Search with a conscience

A hacked version of Google’s search engine that ignores sites owned up by Google itself has been created by a Finnish blogger.
The Register reports… “Inspired by a recent New York Times piece that questioned whether Google is morphing into a media company - which it is - Finnish blogger Timo Paloheimo promptly unveiled Google minus Google. Key in the word “YouTube,” and the first result is Wikipedia.”
Google minus Google conveniently filters out domains such as YouTube, Blogger and Gmail. In other words, it removes Google’s conflict of interest. Power to the people (kind of).
