Britain from above

Britain from above is a new series from the BBC that shows a new perspective on everyday environments. The BBC have made use of satellite technology and cutting edge ariel photography to create stunning images of the British isles.
The program which starts on BBC One later this month has captured some incredible images, including Canary Wharf, the London Eye, Old Trafford, Tilbury Docks and the Glastonbury festival.
They have also been able to illustrate how Britain keeps moving. A couple of examples showed the flight paths of aeroplanes in and out of Britain, and the movement of London’s taxis – they were able to show how taxi drivers used alternative routes during the rush hour to avoid the nasty queues.
Series director, Cassian Harrison, said “It’s like Google Earth, but for real.”
Andrew Marr presents the series Britain from above, on Sunday 10 August at 9pm on BBC One.
