Google street view crosses the Atlantic

Google’s mapping service, street maps, have been busy driving their camera vans all over America taking pictures at street level, but now they’ve have crossed the ‘pond’ and are beginning the same process in Europe.
The Google vans, mounted with cameras have been seen driving around Rome and Milan according to Out Law. Street view allows you to spin 360 degrees at street level in certain locations on Google maps, meaning that you can get a real feel for a place without even being there.
This is great news for sightseers out there who will be able to visit a new place from their desk, especially with the ever increasing cost of travel. Google maps is already a great tool, and these improvements in interactivity will continue to make it better and better.
