Check-out itunes’ rival, Tesco Digital

Apple’s Itunes is far from being challenged in its domination of online entertainment sales. This could all be about to end with the release of Tesco Digital. The supermarket giant has obviously seen a gap in the market and definitely feel it has the resource to put up a challenge to itunes.

Tesco is launching their new site which will offer downloadable music, videos, and games.

The prices are going to be very competitive so this will definitely bring them into direct competition with itunes and other big online entertainment retailers.

The look of the site is great, using a deep blue background which makes everything on the page stand out. The use of flash on the hero element of the home page, really gives it an interactive feel. The site is incredibly easy to navigate, but there are some small similarities to the itunes site.

It’s great to see that there is some competition at last, but I’m sure Apple will have something up their sleeve to blow the competition out of the water sooner rather than later.
